Atmosphere and Appearance:
This a very WIP project… I’ll try to add stuff whenever I have free time… or need a break from Photoshop. If you have any ideas shoot me a PM!
The skies of Venus tend to have more of an orange tint, thanks to the atmosphere. Various steps had to be taken for life to flourish. According to local lore, the goddess Aphrodite brought forth life during the great eruption. The resulting exploration made the air breathable and brought forth water from the core. It was probably either ancient Venetians or a little Divya* intervention that made the planet livable. The planet is home to unique fauna and flora, large forests, oceans, and one very massive and now dormant volcano.
Capital City of Corinthos:
Sitting towards the northeast hemisphere of the planet is the capital city of Corinthos. It is a mixture of older and new architecture. Some of the newer builds were done my Venerians who studied architecture on Mercury.
The Castle of Cytherea:
Said to be one of the oldest structures, the castle has survived three great wars, a sister dispute, and a massive fire. It sits at the very center of the city.
The Three Infamous Red Light Districts:
Even though Venus is well known for its sex industry, from extravagant brothels to low-level street workers, these three areas are the most interesting.
Plutarch: Nestled southern most part of Corinthos, it is the oldest of the red light districts. It also tends to be the most heavily regulated. King Adonis personally set in place new rules and regulations to not only protect the workers but those visiting.
Every so often some upper ranking courtesans put on parades (a bit like the Oiran of the Yoshiwara). Theses are more so displays of fashion and exercise to stir up more attention for their own businesses.
Solon: Located at the seaside city of Carthage, this city often draws people from not only across the waters… but from other planets as well.
Hetaera: Hidden away in the dense city of Achilles, this district tends to be the least regulated. Even though King Adonis has sent officials to try to oversee proper regulations, the officials became corrupted by greed… and let’s just say secrets tend to be best kept here.
The Others Wonders of Venus:
Hanging Gardens of Andonis: The king wanted his capital to know for just sex. He sought to build a safe heaven for all. Said to be a wedding gift to Parvati, the gardens are a mix of modern design and creativity. It features hanging platforms of flora, charming fountains, and elegant stone statues of past and current monarchy.
The Towers of Berossus: Located in the second largest city, Argos, the towers are the tallest standing structure on the planet. The buildings are of a modern design, in a spiral shape. The twin structures are adjoined by a central bridge. The residential side as a pool top, while the business side offers a place to land, and park, personal spacecraft.
Mount Aphrodite: On a clear day, the now dormant volcano can be seen from the city of Corinthos. While it has been inactive for before most can remember, this doesn't stop a few cults from claiming the end is near any time there is a small quake.
