When he sneaks out to meet Beryl he will dress in peasant attire, using cloaks to cover his face. He normally prefers to wear dark or cool tones, the occasional vibrant shade of red.
The Prince will often wear a jeweled brooches with his family crest, on his tunics. He often wears a chain of dark gold, accented by garnets if wearing lighter formal attire. He is rather found of garnet stones and sapphires.
Considered to be a head of it's time, Endymion carries around what some believe to be one of the marvels of their time... a golden pocket watch in the shape of a five pointed star. It was crafted by an inventor, whos talents have won them a stop in his majesty's court. When the face is opened it plays a delicate lullaby. The rumor is that the watch was given to the queen, as the inventor was an admirer of hers. Not wishing to get caught or have the person killed... she held the watch, instead giving it to her son Endymion on his tenth name day. Truthfully, the lock is one of his favorite possessions.
Personality: Endymion has a bit of an altruist personality, and often takes the idea of helping others seriously. To some, he can even come off as a touch epithetical. The prince tends outgoing, he rather enjoys being the center of attention at formal and informal events alike. He tends to be extremely extroverted, and doesn't mind being the ice breaker of the room. This can either be a very good thing, or a bad thing as he has been remanded by his father and mother many times.
Kyra, his younger sister, tends to be his "partner" in crime. She is often the first person Endymion will confide in. There is a good chance he has already told her about Beryl as well. Seeing how the pair tend to keep each other secrets very well.
Endymion cares for his younger brother, Orion. The older prince has personal taken it upon himself to help his younger brother with fencing lessons. Even though he is not as close to his younger brother, as his sister it's not rare to find them spending about of time in the courtyard. As Endymion matured he also began to feel more responsible for Orion. It might also seem that some of Endy's more rash behavior might be a bad influence on his younger sibling.
As for his parents, he didn't have that intimal bond with his mother... that might be thanks to spending time with a wet nurse and Governess when he was little. Nonetheless, he would have a better relationship with his mother as he grew older. Every now and then Artemisia would invite her son for a private lunch, just to chat. His relationship with Lysander wouldn't really start until Endymion began hunting lessons. The king would plan outings and hunting parties that would take them away from the palace for weeks at a time. He tends to put on a more "formal" face with his parents. Yet, sometimes his need for independence puts him at odds of what his father wants.
He is passionate and sincere and often shows his feelings with ease and clarity. When in love, he comes off as very playful, loyal, respectful, and very generous towards their loved one. He will play the part of a pioneer in any relationship and strongly relies on a simple need for independence. When it comes to friends and family, he once again shows a very loyal side. Although he tends to act a bit more laid back when he is with friends. When at court, or at formal events, he tends to put a more arrogant face forward… as he was trying to prove something to his father. He tries to he behavior himself during such events. For the most part, his sister is the only one that can keep him in check.
Charming, Endymion has a way with words. When it comes to pursuing a love interest, he can come off as very generous and caring. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why he originally wanted to teach Beryl the ways of the court? He honestly has a strong need to help the young woman.
Some of Endymion’s biggest strengths is his loyalty, ability to connect with others, and his compassionate nature. Even though he is aware of his station, he often will try to help people below him. He tends to be quite personal, one of the reasons why he finds it so easy to connect with other people. It's not rare to find him flirting a bit of the more charming ladies of court.
Some of the prince’s biggest weaknesses are his inability to take criticism, inflexibility, and arrogance. He can also be a bit impetuous at times, and will often do things on a whim. Perhaps it’s because of his age, but the young prince can be rash in judgment. He still doesn't handle some of his father's criticisms very well, even more so when it comes to hunting. As stated before, there are a few times when he will blurt out things with out really thinking them through.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills: The prince has been trained in the art of fencing, horseback riding, archery. Beryl is trying to teach him a few divination tricks and such, but he is far from skilled in magic. Endymion has his own "golden crystal" but it has yet to be awakened. As he continues to work with Beryl, it will be... once that occurs he might have some actual powers.
History: Prince Endymion was born one late summer’s eve to two very grateful parents, Queen Artemisia and King Lysander. The event was a very public affair, with the young child’s earliest days spent in the arms of a wet nurse. Prince Endymion would start learning the various customs and mannerisms at a very early age. His mother took great pride in telling her small toddler about his father and their charming kingdom. Even though the young prince would often spend a bit more time with his governess, he always enjoyed his time spent with his mother. Despite being expected to return to her royal duties, Artemisia would find the time.
When Endymion was about four, his mother would give birth again, this time to a girl Krya. Endymion felt jealous of her at first, but as they grew older he began to feel over protective. He would always stick with her during formal events and such. Truthfully, he always felt a bit upset when their paths began to diverge. No matter, it wasn't rare for the young prince to skip a few lessons just to spend time with Kyra.
When the young prince reached the age of seven his formal education began via serial tutors. King Lysander took his son's education very series, for obvious reasons. Although, he was often very busy to take part in the young prince's early days... thanks to a few conflicts and such. Yet, he vowed to make it up to his son.
As the young prince grew he would also be taught the art of fencing, archery, and outdoor activities such as horseback riding, and hunting. He would be taught alongside other high-born young men. King Lysander would finally be able to keep his promise. He would plan hunting trips for his son and few other high-born young men. The King was very fond of hunting wild game and wanted to impress upon his son the many skills it took for a successful kill.
Starting at the age of 13, the young prince would often compete in various tournaments held by his father. Lysander knew that he didn't have the time to teach his son everything, so steps were taken to ensure that his sun had the best. The young prince would also begin private lessons from a personal mentor, Lord Augusto. The lord hails from the smaller kingdom of Midori (One that was currently under the protection of the Golden Kingdom). A highborn himself, he was born into a family of wealthy judges. He personally knew Endymion's father, from past dealings, and was delighted at the chance to personally teach the young prince the proper ways ruling. Lessons with Endymion would begin simple enough, on such subjects as diplomacy. Later, as Endymion grew older, these lessons would change to the politics of being a good ruler. Often times these lessons occurred during court, so Augusto could use the goings on as an example for the young prince. Other times they would take place in the library.
Later that year his mother would give birth to another child a male. She named him Orion, after her favorite tale. A bit more mature, Endymion wasn't immediately jealous of the younger boy... maybe because he had been used to the idea of another child in their house hold. Wanting to prove how mature he was to his father, he tired to spend a little time with him. The more fun stories would come from the court yard sparring with toy swords. So, when Orion became older Endymion was the one to present him with an actual sword.
On his 16th name day, Endymion would receive the sword that he often wears currently. It is a hoplite sword with a doubled edged steel blade. The sword features a steel guard and with a wooden grip covered with handcrafted leather. The leather has been etched with a simple leaf design. The pommel of the sword has been inlaid with gold with his family crest. Overall length of the blade, from guard to tip was about 60 cm.
Endymion was around 17 when a fateful meeting occurred. A grand tourney was to take place for his father's name-day, and the young prince wanted to go out to the city to find him a proper gift. It was during this outing that he accidentally bumped into a peasant girl. After giving the young maiden a sincere apology he slowly tried to strike up a conversation with her. In truth, it was a bit of love at first site mixed with slight curiosity. The next few days he used various excuses to travel to the city just to see her.
Before long, he had found himself infatuated with the fortune teller. He would often sneak out of the place, wearing commoners attire and cloaks to cover his face, just to see her. In turn, Beryl taught him a few things about magic and divination. He found the subjects fascinating and took to keeping a dream journal, as her instructions. In truth, his continued meetings with Beryl started off as a pet project. He hated the idea of such a charming young woman being excluded from the finer things just because of her birth. That being said, he does have feelings for her. He continues to teach her the ways of the court in order to one day present her as a proper young lady at court. Granted, this is probably not a well thought of plan... but love often causes people to do interesting things.
A grand event was held for in honor of Prince Endymion's tourney victory. His father sent invitations to as many Royals as he could. It was to be a grand, open event... something that the entire kingdom could take part in. Yet, as luck would have it a certain lunar royal happened to visit. Endymion watched as his father took the time to hold a special meeting for Queen Serenity and extended a formal invite to the tourney. Yet, even though that meeting went sour... Even Prince Endymion disagreed with his father. Endymion thought it would be better to try to work out an arrangement with the Lunar Royal rather than out right reject the offer.
The prince tried to bring up his ideas at said meeting, yet his father rejected the ideas. Stating it was "A show of weakness" to barging with foreigners". This rose the young prince's temper, causing him to storm out. Yet, it was during his rush to the door that his eyes finally noticed the princess. She seemed so beautiful, as if straight from the pages of one of his mother's favorite tales...
Not one to easily let things go, Endymion tried to raise such concerns with his father, again, that evening. While the older male seemed more willing to listen so such ideas, they were still rejected. Although, the prince was able to get a better understanding as to why the King was so reluctant to bargain.
"This crystal is our Kingdom's connection to the Graceful Goddess... the one who gave life to this world and granted your ancestors the powers to rule!"
Despite the very busy evening, the tourney went ahead as scheduled. Lysander also extended a formal invitation to Queen Serenity and her daughter. Everyone from the kingdom was in attendance that day... including Beryl. At the start of the event, as custom, the prince was red roses to maidens, and a single white rose to the maiden he thought to be the most elegant. It took some time, but he managed to find Beryl in the crowd and gave her a red rose, with a hidden note. Yet, here was quite the uproar when he gave the rose to Princess Serenity. Endymion thought the event to be more challenging than normal. No matter, he managed to beat the toughest competitor. He couldn't help but feel inspired that day.
Later, Endymion actually found himself less than concerned about the threat of war. His thoughts were clouded by her, by visions of the charming lunar princess. In fact, when they first arrived he couldn't take his eyes off of Princess Serenity. Her face would fill his dreams and he found himself pining for her. He wondered how long he could keep his feelings hidden from not only his father but from his secret lover, Beryl. For the time being, the prince isn't sure how he will handle this love triangle.

The time was nearing midnight as Prince Endymion made his way the castle’s central courtyard. Warmer weather meant the small area was in full bloom with flowers planted some of the lower court ladies. The area was open, and above the light of a few full moon cast the area in cool tones. He was dressed in egg white coloured tunic with a pair of dark black pants. Shoes were a pair of the finest handmade leather boots. The longer top portion of his tresses was in a slightly disheveled state, slight proof that he was had just gotten up from bed. He began to pace back and forth before finally stopping, casting his gaze to the skies.
The idea of going to war with an unknown race of people seemed unsettling enough on its own! They were… aliens. Endymion couldn’t help but feel concerned not only for his father but for his mother as well. What if the moon’s forces overpowered his own? That wasn’t the least of his worries… There was his current infatuation with the princess of the moon, Serenity. He found his troubled thoughts fading as images of her danced before his mind’s eye.
“Can’t do this, it would be tension… but…” A sudden rustle of the bushes soon caught his attention. “If only… I wish…”
It turned out to be one of the handmaiden's overly pampered cats.
