On behalf of my character, I am requesting him a graphic and/or signature for the Hermit. Something simple and plain would probably fit his personality nicely. In his opinion, neither a graphic nor a signature is needed, but if necessary than the process should be as simple as possible as to minimize intrusion.

I guess I'm not good at unobtrusive graphics, or maybe I just see Gareth as being a whimsical chara so I made these graphics in that spirit? If these are too bright, maybe someone else can do something a bit more subdued. For the avvie, I found this pretty pic of some of Gareth's friends ^^ . For the sig, I couldn't find any real people who looked like Gareth, but I found this gorgeous piece of sculpture that made me think of him. I inserted it into this forest scene 'cause it was cooler than just a plain BG.

I may have another go at this. While looking at the sprite thread again, I had an epiphany; Gareth's sprite looks a lot like Isaac Hayes (aside from the fact Isaac Hayes never showed his age nearly as much as Gareth-- I credit that to Gareth living out in the elements all those years and not taking care of his appearance, where I'm sure Isaac did). I'll see what I can come up with, and hopefully it will be a bit less "loud" than the first set ^^ .

I discovered something when Googling around for Isaac Hayes; there are no ratty-looking pictures of that man. He was youthful-looking and attractive all the way up to his death at 65, thus my attempts at graphics for Gareth result in a strangely good-looking Hermit. Not sure how I feel about that, but here they are, anyway. Erm, well, at least they're not as bright as the first ones, as they were done in only a reddish, sepia-ish kind of scheme. Whether that makes them better or not is your call.

Very interesting choice, but if you're looking to make Isaac look older, you should be able to add a few wrinkles easily. I may just be using my photo editing knowledge, but you might be able to make the very smooth man show his age with a few short strokes.

I've never done that before. I could try if I had a tut or something, but I don't wanna feel like I'm disrespecting his memory by messing around with his pics too much. He was a cool guy.
