This is a recreation of an old thread. Do you ever listen to certain music to inspire you when you are posting for a character? What songs and why? This is different from the soundtrack thread as (a) you can pick more than two songs, and (b) the songs don't have to fit as well. Does the music just remind you of the character regardless of lyrics? Doesn't matter! We still want to know!

I'll start.

Maetel:
I Surrender by Joy Williams
For some reason this song just makes me think of Maetel.

Into You by Jennifer Knapp
Most of this song really doesn't fit, but whenever I hear the lyrics, "She's a wannabe hero and she's trying to be strong, but at the end of the hour you find out the tower ain't standing so tall" I think of Maetel (or Keiki) and the lines, "She's an easy scare. She's a simple bluff. She's a timid girl. She's in love." could go a long way towards describing her character.

Pretty much anything sung by Amy Grant, but especially The Power

Dawn by Mai Takahashi
The lyrics don't fit very well, but the melody just screams Maetel to me.

Vardia:
One Girl Revolution by Superchic[k] and
She's a Rebel by Green Day
These songs fit Vardia so well that they could have been written just for her.

Hikaru: I tend to listen to a lot of songs by Shiina Ringo. A few of the one's I listened to while redoing her profile are Gamble, Tsumi to Batsu, Kuki, Karisome Otome, and Honnou. I've probably listened to more... but erm... those are my top favs at the moment. There's something really cool about Ringo-san's voice. Ooooh and Yumi No Ato! And another -- Yumi Ni Furu Ame. Out of all of the songs Tsumi to Batsu (Crime and Punishment) fists Hikaru the most.

Michiru: I like to listen to a lot of classical music while posting for her, also alot of songs by Vanessa Mae. She's a classical violinist but most of the song she performs are a nice mix of modern. (I heard she wrote some of the violin pieces for the anime. O.o;)
