Q. What happened to the site?
A. We have reopened with a new AU Silver Millennium story, based on the conflict between Earth and the moon.
Q. How AU do our character profiles have to be?
A. That depends on the player's personal preference. There are some characters who look and act similar to their counterparts in the canon, some who are drastically different, and some who are somewhere in the middle. It's just up to what you're comfortable with and what suits the established canon of this story.
Q. If some character details (for a canon character) are never stated should I make them up or just leave them out of their profile?
A. Feel free to make up any details you want! There are a lot of things that the manga and anime don't tell us, so we encourage you to be creative and fill in the blanks. A character's history is one area this is especially important. Another example of this type of filling in the blanks is if a character doesn't have a birthday.
Q. Is this RP based on the Sailor Moon anime or the manga?
A. Court Intrigue uses a mix of information from pretty much every source, but mostly manga and '90s anime. Pretty much anything you want to bring in is fine, though, as long as it fits in our universe.
Q. What is the lineage of the Earthlings in this story?
A. They are humans native to Earth. They may be of whatever human ethnicity you like.
Q. So the other solar system inhabitants are not human?
A. When the senshi get reincarnated in the future they will be human, but in this story they are aliens of the various planets they come from. They look like humans because aliens in the anime and manga generally look humans.
Q. Are all the planets already part of the Moon's empire?
A. Aside from Earth, yes.
Q. What's the technological level of the other planets? For Example: Mercury invented space travel, but because it's the 'beginning' of everything, how advanced are they? What have Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and the other planets contributed so far?
A. I think all the planets have adopted at least a certain amount of Mercurian tech, so their technological advances have accelerated at an unnatural rate. The other worlds' influence I'm guessing are more cultural than technological.
Q. Would the girls be awakened as senshi yet? or are they still unawakened? Will they awaken in-story?
A. I know Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are definitely awakened, and Saturn is definitely not. I was gonna play it by ear when it came to the Inners.
Q. If Mercury invented space travel, would they be a technological hub and maybe trade/barter with the other planets?
A. Yes.
Q. How did Serenity, a Venusian, get to the moon? Furthermore, how did she convince the others to join her? In the plot there's an interplanetary war mentioned, how far would it spread?
Serenity got to the moon because there is Mercurian tech all over the system. All the planets have become spacefaring people. The interplanetary war would have been between most, if not all of the planets in the system besides Earth. As to how Serenity got others to join her, firstly, they had all been at war for hundreds of years, so they would have been battle-weary and running out of resources. They would have been ready to make peace by then, I think (and even if they weren't, Queen Serenity is like the most powerful being in the system, so she could easily threaten or force them into submission if they didn't agree.)
Q. What positions do you have available for men?
A. Male Senshi, Planetary Knights, and OC Shitennou are not allowed on CI, sorry. OCs are allowed in other member groups, however.
Q. Are civilians allowed to have powers?
A. As these are roles for "normal" people, no superpowers will be allowed. You may have unique skills, such as being double-jointed, picking up languages quickly, being a musical prodigy, having a strong "women's intuition", etc. You may be trained to fight hand-to-hand or with some weapon. Certain mental abilities, such as telepathy, empathy, or precognition, may be allowed occasionally, but remember you are still a "normal" person. Keep the powers requested and their limits in the realm of believability and don't make them the focus of every post. It's actually best if you can play it vaguely enough so it's never clear whether the character really has mental powers or is just lying/delusional/scamming everyone.
Q. If a character is "Adoptable", do I have to adopt her/him as is?
A. Characters listed as "Adoptable/Replaceable" can either be adopted as is or you can create a new character to fill the role. Skeleton profiles in the "Adoptable" board will have to be fleshed out before being submitted, and in most cases you're allowed to decide many of the details when you do so.
