Defying the Moon (June 6, 5pm) (Open)

[Prince Endymion]

The town of Chrysós was alive with festivities and made it live up its golden name. King Lysander had even sent out invitations to the Four Kingdoms to boost attendance. The streets were lined with colorful booths. Vendors from near and far came to sell various goods, from foods to clothing, toys, and other trinkets to commemorate the evening.

In the center, a large fountain had been decorated with dark blue and gold ribbons. Star-shaped lanterns hung at random posts to match the night’s theme. A few tables and small food stalls lined the area. Joyful music filled the square, performed by the royal orchestra.

The royal house had their own platform. It also was decorated in shades of rich navy and gold. A detailed embroidery depicting a scene from the legend that gave birth to the festival; the cow herder and the weaver.

Endymion was wearing a royal blue tunic, embedded with tiny golden beads, with a pair of black leggings. His shoes were a pair of handmade leather knee-high boots. His majestic floof of hair was somewhat tamed for the evening, with the longer part brushed back into a neat style. Instead of a normal golden chain, he wore a brooch with his family crest.

King Lysander motioned his hand and caused the orchestra to pause. “Tonight we mark the eve of the meeting of the fabled star-crossed lovers! Eat, drink, and let’s be marry as we celebrate the promise of young love! Now… let’s continue! Here and now we show the stars and moon above that we are strong, brave and most of all… joyful!” Cheers broke out as the music returned, the dance floor once again flourished with excitement.

“Well said, father… and now I have to continue with my tradition” said Endymion. He couldn’t help but smirk… so this was his father’s way of defying the moon? Perhaps this wasn't such a bad idea. Hopefully, it would dispel any rumors about floating around.

He grabbed a velvet satchel and headed into the crowd. His plan was to give out the trinkets and flowers he had bought the previous day, and give them to a few charming maidens. Endymion had two special roses saved; a white rose and a violet. Yet, he was not sure if the two ladies would attend.

[Zoisite]

Not being from the Golden Kingdom, Zoisite knew nothing about their legends or the festivals they inspired. Most probably would have wondered why they would still allow their festival to go on under the looming threat of the moon, but that was exactly the sort of thing they would have done in the North where Zoi was from. It would be a way to thumb their noses at the moon, as if daring them to strike at just that time. He wondered whether the people of the Golden Kingdom would be as ready for such an incursion if it did happen?

Well, he would be ready for it, even if most weren't. He had his powers, and he would have his sword, he thought as he strapped his sword belt securely around his waist. He could have just worn his uniform, but apparently the prevailing colors of the festival would be navy and gold. Besides, how many chances did he get to dress up? So instead he was wearing a pair of navy pants with a white shirt, gold waistcoat and navy jacket. Should he wear a cape? He wore one for formal occasions with his uniform, but tonight it felt like that might be overdoing it. He didn't want to outshine the Golden Kingdom's royalty, after all... which was entirely in the realm of possibility, he thought as he did his final primping in the mirror. Navy was certainly not his color, but Zoi knew he could make pretty much anything look good if he'd just own it. He was beautiful and he knew it.

He wondered how well Arwyn was faring, getting ready herself in her own assigned room. He went to her room and knocked lightly at the door. He wasn't sure what state of dress she was in, or whether she was getting dressed all on her own or had a servant or two in there to help, so he didn't want to just barge in or anything.

"Are you ready yet?" he asked through the door. "Do you need any help?"

[Princess Eirlys]

A festival...oh how Eirlys was excited. Not to mention Zoisite had gotten a beautiful dress made for her and she was just getting it done up when her friend knocked on the door and asked if she was ready and if she needed any help. He had been extremely attentive, and had been helping her a lot for which she was very grateful, she never would have thought the people of Earth could be this kind.

"I'm almost done!" She called towards the door and smoothed her hands over the blue velvet bodice. Her dress was a deep night sky hue with a velvet bodice that was off the shoulders.The skirt had intricately embroidered gold thread that resembled the night sky with the stars, and her hair was mostly down, with some of her hair pulled back and braided, and her face had a little bit of make up on it that accentuated her features. Her pendant, freshly polished, sparkled gently.

Pulling her flat shoes on, Eirlys walked over to the full body length mirror and giggled softly as she twirled. "Oh wow." She breathed out in awe. Never had she had something so simply beautiful in her wardrobe that sparkled and shimmered as she moved. Picking up the matching clutch purse, she also put on the sheer shawl and went over to the door. Opening it, she smiled shyly at Zoisite, "I'm ready, do I look okay?"
