Anemone tried her best to keep up with the bidding war, but found it harder after the slave began to show off more of his talents. The adults seemed so sure of themselves. Where they also buying for personal reasons? The Venusian princess knew very little about the current slave trade, so her assumptions were very far off.
She began to doubt herself as she listened to the bids climb even higher. The young princess had never been worried about how she spent her parents money. Sadly, this would not be the first time she had overspent. Anemone wanted to show her mother that she was a responsible adult! One who did not just buy things on a whim... But this whim had talent! Maybe he could even be her personal assistant and offer her aid during class!?
“25 Thousand, and plus I will throw in a one thousand tip for information on Venus’ brothels”

Elisavet felt the tears begin to well up in her eyes. She was going to die today; there was no way to avoid it now. Whether she won or lost today, she was going to die. She wondered whether the girl who had just outbid her again knew that, and if she did, whether she cared. Unfortunately, she had no choice in this matter but to keep bidding, figuring her death would be much slower and more painful if she lost than if she won.
"Thirty-five thousand," she bid tearfully.
She would have tried to sweeten the deal somehow, the way the other girl had, but as a slave, herself, she had nothing she could call her own. She couldn't even promise the auctioneer a night with her to do whatever he pleased (which was common currency amongst Venusians) because she didn't own herself. Not to mention that the virgin queen also wanted her servants to remain virginal, so if she wasn't dead already she certainly would be if she gave herself away like that. Then again, she didn't own the money she was bidding with, either. . .
"Thirty-five thousand, plus a night with me to do whatever you like," she said finally.
She was already dead no matter what she did, so what did it matter now?

The crowd was visibly hushed. At first it was all so terribly exciting. The price kept going higher and higher. The auctioneer's face went cold as the Lunarian cried out her final bid. The crowd started to chuckle and whisper among themselves but they didn't know who she was. He however knew all too well who she was and exactly what she had just done. The slave looked towards him with a puzzled look as he scanned the crowd quickly assessing what to do. He twirled his mustache in a coy manner and looked towards the Venusian and said, "My dear, I'm not sure how deep your pockets run but if you knew anything about that young woman over there you would realize how she is bidding everything. What can you bid of equal or greater value?" He stood eyeing the girl up. She certainly was a pretty young thing.
Naculo stood in awe as the two women increased shouting in both speed and volume. Suddenly one women shouted a response that silenced the entire crowd. He certainly wasn't sure what would happen next all he could hope for was a safe path.

Anemone found herself speaking louder, and louder until she found herself shouting her bids. Was this what it was like to be an adult in charge? Barking orders like a nutter? Well, she assumed this was one of the things adults did.
The other woman’s next response left her silent for a moment. A look of genuine confusion could be seen on her face. “Isn’t that a little foolish?” NO matter! She had to think of something to offer him. Shame, if he was a bit younger she might have taken the gamble with that one nighter. Oh yeah, but her parents would probably disown her, so that wasn't an option. The young princess nervously felt her wrist and suddenly a large smile appeared on her face.
“Errrm… no matter! I can match her bid, plus my rose gold bracelet. If you do, as you claim to do a lot of trading on Venus… you should get at least 80K… A lot more if you go to places, like the market in Corinthos”

Elisavet let out a small, pitiful yelp. How could she ever outdo that bid? She didn't have anything worth nearly that much, unless the virginity she had offered up would count as an even greater enticement to the man than the money the other girl claimed her bracelet could be sold for. (It would have almost served the man right if he got greedy and accepted the bracelet and then it turned out to be worthless. But who was she kidding? Even just looking at the girl, Elisavet could tell she came from money. The chances of her pulling a fast one on him by selling him a worthless trinket would be next to nil.) So what was there left to do?
"I-I can't match what she's offering monetarily, that's true; I have no property of my own to offer. I've offered much more than I ever should have done as it is. I don't know what else I could possibly do."
She stood wringing her hands while biting her quivering lip as she tried to think of something-- anything-- more she could promise.
"I'll run away with you," she blurted out. "If I stay here, my life is forfeit anyway, whether I win or lose. So if you accept this offer you could well be saving my life. I'm good for cooking and cleaning and am an excellent seamstress."
If he knew who owned her, he would know everything she said was true. But would he want to risk the possible ire of the queen if she chose to go after her little runaway slave? Would she even be valuable enough to be worth the trouble of searching and bringing her back?

Again for the auction to be deafening silent was incredible. Nobody would speak they only watched intently as both women bet more and more. Nobody knew what to do but they increasingly knew how dire the situation was. Especially when the servant offered everything and pleaded with her life. The auctioneer listened patiently as she pleaded her case. He slowly turned to the Venusian and said, "Yeah your bet isn't going to cover it. That girl right there is literally giving me everything. She is untouched and to have her is the highest prize. SO I ask you again girl. What do you bid? No amount of money will match that. Consider using you body, then perhaps you might win this prize." With that the auctioneer licked his leaps and raised his hand in the air saying, " Going once!"

Anemone took a moment to think over the auctioneer's advice.
“I am far from a commoner. I am Anemone of the house of Aurea Aurora *first of her name, first in line to the Venusian throne.” the young teen raised her hand proudly, her voice now took on a bit more maturity. Perhaps this was all out of stress, but she felt like she had to try something.
“I add to the bidding a full day… with me, on my homeworld Venus. A private tour of the floating gardens and private dinner. I offer that, and a chance to make potential ties to the Venusian royal household thus giving you more opportunity to make a contract with our house for personal…”
She paused a moment the take a breath and shrugged her shoulders. “Or, decline my final bid and run off with her... An offer that will not earn you the type of clout mine does. I can always make the same offer to one of your competitors later and give them the edge” A serious expression could be seen on her face… she tried to mirror the same look she had seen on her mother’s face when she had to deal with the staff.
(*Obvious Game of Thrones reference is obvious)
