Mariner Castle was a beautiful sight to see. It was crafted out of metal and glass, and had 4 buildings in total. The Main Palace, Servant Quarters, Guard's Barracks, and the Garden Shed. It was overlooking a wonderful piece of land that the town had grown upon, there was direct access to the gardens in the back of the castle for those that wished to indulge in Mercury's unnatural, but oddly satisfying beauty.
Due to the proximity of the sun, the cities were under a series of domes with interconnecting tubes and a 'sun shield' that was carefully temperature controlled so that it wouldn't get too hot or too cold. The temperature was a perfect 68 degrees farenheight year round, which meant that layers weren't often needed, and people rarely complained about the temperature. Sometimes though, the royals would lower the temperature in the winter months in order to have snow and allow the citizens to indulge a little, but this was rare.
Currently the princess of Mercury was indulging in the Gardens in her casual attire that she could more often than not be seen wearing. It was a dress that began as a sky blue shrug with mid-arm kimono sleeves cinched above her elbows, with her corset being a beautiful midnight blue with black boob covers, with a small ice blue bow that rested between them. Her layered and tiered ground-length skirt was the usual dark sea blue to ice blue layers, swishing softly with her movements.
Adjusting her half ponytail slightly, her sky blue boots clicked softly on the ground below her, sky blue satchel bumping gently against her hip with every step; soft hazel eyes taking in the people that milled about the gardens. Her ice blue crystal earrings glinted softly in the light, and she inclined her head silently to a few people that greeted her.
As usual, her parents were watching her indirectly through her personal guards, but she didn't really need to worry about them, though they were hanging around a little closely for her comfort, but Eirlys didn't really pay much attention to them. Pausing to smell the roses, which had been artificially engineered, she momentarily wrinkled her nose at the musty smell of them. Really, with all the technology Mercury had, couldn't they make the roses smell better?
Shaking her head, the young woman moved on, slowly making her way around the gardens and allowing herself to be approached if people wished to speak to her.

"How long will it take them to clear us to land" Anemone grumbled into the small speaker of her Lady bug. She was dressed in something feminine yet casual for the visit. Curly carmine tresses were brushed up into a messy bun. A few strands were kept loose to hang along both sides of her face. Anemone wore an off white colored peasant blouse, long coral colored skirt with jade floral design, and a pair of tan open toe sandals. Her makeup was simple enough; soft berry gloss, a little mascara, and some highlights on her cheeks.
The young princess wasn't traveling alone. Seated in the two chairs behind her were two personal guards.
"Estimating... 10.2 seconds your Grace" echoed a rather human voice, "Please have patience. Royal practical insists that you --"
The young teen turned down the speaker, cutting off mid-sentence. "Very well" she muttered to herself. Her personal spacecraft hovered along before returning to its present route to the massive glass dome that contained the Mariner Castle. Anemone couldn't help but watch in awe for a few moments. Even though she had been to the planet before, she had never really taken the time to notice the design of the main castle.
"This should be a fun visit" she mused to herself. Even though visiting the Castle was second on her list. Her main reason for traveling to the planet closest to the sun was for a few tablet. Her parents insisted that needed a new one... but Anemone knew it was more for superficial reasons.
After they landed, the two personal guards exited the craft first. They flanked the doorway as the princess excited. "Oh wow! So beautiful! I wonder why I never took the time to visit the gardens!" Those were the last few words spoke as she took a direct path the gardens, the two personal guards very close behind.

Eirlys blinked as she spotted a young woman with reddish hair and wearing rather feminine clothing flanked by guards. Well it seemed the Venusian princess was here, but why? Eirlys had yet to actually meet the fellow teen so she was rather intrigued. Walking over to her and the guards, Eirlys swept a stray grey/white strand behind her ear.
"Greetings, Princess of Venus." She began, hating that she was being so formal but really, she had to stay formal despite her wanting to be completely and utterly informal (besides what fun was it if you were formal all the blasted time, honestly. It was so boring!).
"I am Princess Eirlys. Welcome to my Kingdom. Is there anything I can do for you at all?" She queried, her hazel eyes as warm as her voice, her body language relaxed and welcoming. Her hands were clasped in front of her and she looked somewhat excited to see another Princess, and she did her best to stay as calm as she could.

Anemone couldn't help but smile as she began to admire the rose garden. "Almost compares to the Adonis Gardens" she admitted. Although, the young teen would never admit that to her parents. Her mother had told her many stories of how their home palace gardens had come to be. Still, she wondered if her parents had visited the gardens here? Surely they would be impressed by what the Mercurians had managed to grow.
Her attention soon turned away from the charming blossoms when she heard her formal title. Personal guards moved closer until the young princess gave them a motion to step back. "It's the Princess of Mercury... pretty sure I'll be safe around her" She informed the guards.
A warm smile appeared on her face as she greeted the other teen. "Greetings, Princess of Mercury" she replied in a polite tone, giving a formal curtsy after. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Princess Eirlys. My name is Anemone, Princess Anemone..." Remembering her title towards the end.
"There is one thing you can help me with. Do you have any advice on where to buy a new tablet? Your plant is home to some of the best technology" she comments in a soft tone.

Truly, Eirlys was quite happy to provide services to another person, however, would she be allowed to leave the gardens as she was now? She wasn't sure, so she called over one of her personal guards, and whispered to him. The guard nodded and hurried into the palace, coming back a few minutes later. "You may leave the grounds, as long as you have two guards with you." He explained. Eirlys beamed, then looked at Anemone.
"I can show you the best shops in town to get a new tablet." She stated eagerly, and called over another guard. "I would simply give you a recommendation, but due to the intricate, sprawling labyrinth the town is, it'd be best if I went with you, come with me, Princess Anemone."
Adjusting her brown leather satchel she kept on her person at all times, Eirlys began walking towards the exit of the gardens with her two guards just behind her, her ground-length skirt swishing softly, heels clicking on the hard ground. She glanced over at the Venusian princess, hazel eyes warm.
"I can also give you a tour of the city while we're at it, if you'd like. My father gave me permission to do so." She offered gently. This was going to be odd, wandering the city as herself and not her alter-ego Arwyn, she was probably going to draw stares, but she could care less. Her father was allowing her this at least, and she was going to make damn sure she didn't mess it up.

Anemone gave a small smile, her gaze shifted around a moment while the other princess consulted with her own personal guards a moment. She wondered why they had never really had the chance to chat before. Anemone knew she had meet Princess Eirlys in the past, probably during a formal occasion of some sort. She tried to think back the last event she attended on Mercury... or any time her own palace hosted a formal event. For the time being Anemone was certain she had to of meet Eirlys. Yet those events were so stuff and dull... maybe that's why they didn't have time to chat? No matter, Anemone would simply have to make more time to chat with the other princess the next time there was a formal event.
"Why thank you!" Anemone replied in a polite tone. "I appreciate the help" With those words spoken, the young princess motioned her personal guards closer. "Looks like we are going to have a tour of the city, compliments of Princess Eirlys. I am sure mother and father won't mind. Plus, thing should be a little easier with an extra set of guards on hand"
Her personal guards simply nodded at her words. "We should be able to coordinate with palace security." stated one.
Anemone nodded, smiling once more as she turned back to the Princess of Mercury. "Wonderful news, I know how important is is to have parents permission with these things"
"That would be lovely, again, thank you very much. I have always wanted to see more of the city. Sadly, I think the only few times I had visited were for formal occasions" taps her chin slightly before letting her arms relax at her sides again.
"It's nice being able to chat with someone my own age. Next time there is a formal, hehe or maybe not so formal event on Venus I shall show you around... or at least invite you to tea. If you like roses you shall adore the gardens of Adonis. Are they my father's pride and joy" This seemed like the best chance to make a new friend, so Anemone wasn't going to let it pass her by. Surely her parents would be impressed by her initiative.

Eirlys smiled genuinely at Anemone, giving a nod. "It's really no problem at all, Princess Anemone." She began, taking a little flat tablet from one of her guards who had held it out to her. Deftly typing something in, a 3D holographic image of the sprawling city was projected before them.
The Main City below them was a large, round city, with 'branches' off to other domes, the top of the buildings all rounded, or slanted downwards, with smaller buildings dotted throughout the city, everything made of shiny metal and glass, the 'lower levels' though, were of a wood looking construct, with stalls lining a few of the off streets and alleyways, and Eirlys rotated the projection, showing their current location at the palace via mini projections of herself, Anemone and the guads. She drew a blue pathway with a little gold-hued stylus with a sharp point, ending the somewhat winding path about 2 miles away from them at a shop as there was no real direct path to it.
"Okay, so if we follow this path, we'll get there in no time, and I'm glad this visit is somewhat informal, as I'd like the chance to actually talk to you and get to know you, which is why I made the path a little more winding." She smiled at Anemone. "This way we can make up for all those times we couldn't talk." The young teen chuckled softly. "Honestly we don't really need our guards, but I understand my parents' uncertainty." She shook her head. "I do wish we had a little more freedom at times."
At the offer of being shown around Venus, Eirlys perked considerably. "I would absolutely love that." She replied eagerly. "I've always wanted to see Venus and its beauty. I love roses." The teen smiled brightly. "Okay, let's get going." Humming a moment, Eirlys shrank the projection slightly, she knew the city practically off by heart by now but, she didn't want to potentially get questioned as to why, so she had to be a little deceptive at the moment in order to ensure Anemone got the best experience she could provide.
"After we get your tablet, would you like to wander the city for a while?" She queried. "I want to ensure you get a full experience, we can even visit the other domes if you'd like."

"Thank you for your hospitality" Anemone replied in a polite tone a warm smiled played along with her face. Her gaze then focused on the 3D holographic image of the city. She took notice of the very interesting architectural style of the buildings and domes.
"Wonderful idea, I am glad to see that you know your way around the city" Anemone commented, gently smoothing out her skirting a few moments "Maybe one day I will be able to navigate through the capital city this well. My parents are very strict about the districts I am allowed to visit"
"What a good idea... yes, this is the perfect chance for us to get to know each other. I do hope we can become friends" she admitted. "Maybe even share secrets with and stories" she added with a slight mischievous chuckle. Anemone had a few rebellious incidents but was hoping to find ways to be more subtle with her plans. The young princess didn't want her outings written about in the press.
"Sometimes I understand my parent's reasoning... and sometimes I don't." Anemone admitted, shaking her head slightly. "There are times I just wish they would let me explore the city... alone." A hushed sigh escaped her lips.
"There are also times I wish I was a normal girl. Sometimes I want to visit the park or city alone without having fans or critics of following me" Anemone admitted. In truth, she had always wondered what it would be like to be a normal girl on her planet. Surely it would be more of a struggle, deepening on the lifestyle of her parents. Just so long as she wasn't raised in one of the infamous temples of Venus, she assumed things would be a lot more relaxed.
"One of the first things I do with my new tablet will be to schedule in a reminder. Shall I send you a formal invitation in the week? I am sure we can arrange something during a weekend"
"Wonderful lets go" Anemone replies, motioning her two personal guards to follow them. "Yes, I would truly enjoy that" "Perhaps we can visit one of the other domes for lunch..." she suggested.

"It's no problem at all, really, and I do try my best to study the city maps just in case I'm allowed to show a visitor around." Eirlys replied warmly, smiling at Anemone, and started walking, listening to the Venusian princess speak. She found the young woman pleasant, and easy to talk to, it felt comfortable.
"Heck, most of the time I'm not even allowed past the gardens. My older brother and sisters can go wherever they want, whenever they want and I'm stuck here. "A huff escaped Eirlys and she shook her head. "I don't like it, at all."
She blinked at the suggestion of them becoming friends and the teen fought the urge to squee. "I would love to become friends with you, I'm enjoying your company already." Hazel eyes sparkled at the thought. Finally, someone she could talk to outside of her siblings and sneaking out. Things were starting to look promising. "Mmmm I'm not sure you'd like my secrets." she teased, a little chuckle coming from her lips.
"Parents can be confusing." Eirlys nodded. "Though, unfortunately due to our position in life, we can't just oh...sneak out and be amongst the people." Okay that was a bit...too close to what she did, but she had to say something. "I think we all wish we were normal...being a princess is stressful." She wrinkled her nose. "All those lessons, the manners...I wish I could shut it off sometimes."
Perking at the invitation, then lunch suggestion, Eirlys positively beamed at Anemone. "That sounds wonderful, and lunch at one of the other domes? Oh there is an amazing place that has delicious food..." She made a note on the hologram where they should go, the dot she put turning blue, pulsing as a reminder to go there.
"Now, what kind of Tablet would you want?" Eirlys queried as she made her way down the path to the city. "The one I'm using is the highest priced one, it comes with everything, even holograms, the less expensive ones have basic functions." She explained.

A warm smile plays along Anemone's features as she listens to the Mercurian Princess speak. "Ah, that's a very good idea... if my parents gave me more freedom I might do the same. Sadly, they have restricted me to certain areas of the city." Although, the young princess almost knew why they did so. Surely it would cause a scandal if the press caught here walking through one of the more infamous red light districts. In fact, many of her plants elite avoided such places all together.
"I am very sorry to hear that. Must be rough, only being allowed to stay within the gardens... even if it is a very nice space" she replies in a sympathetic tone. "My parents have to approve my travel plans, ahead of time. Whenever I leave the palace grounds I must have at least two personal guards by my side" she added.
"Why thank you... I am sure we can become good friends" replied Anemone, offering another warm smile. In truth, she was glad she as getting along so well with Eirlys. "Say, I am a bit curious... have you been able to meet any of the other princesses of the system? Sadly, I haven't... I am a bit ashamed, but I don't even think I have traveled past Jupiter"
"Oh? As long as you didn't secretly kill someone... I doubt I would be that bothered. I mean, you haven't done anything awful, have you?" gives a curious glance, but continues to smile "Even though we have just met, your secret is safe with me!" she explains, giving a small wink. "Out of all the system, Venusians are the best at keeping secrets"
"Sadly so, but there is not much we can do" gives a hushed sigh "Well, at least until we come of age. Actually, I might try to spend time on other worlds, well when I am old enough. There's so much I want to see and do." the young princess admitted.
"That sounds lovely, I enjoy trying new foods" she replied with a chuckle "Please, lead the way. I am looking forward to seeing a bit of your capital city. I am already very impressed with what I have seen so far"
"Hmmmm... perhaps one with holographic technology? Top of the line... Ah, perhaps one like yours? Don't worry about cost, my parents aren't"

"It's annoying at times, only being able to go to the gardens and no further, and unfortunately, no. I went to the moon when I was younger but I didn't get to meet the princesss. You're the first I've actually met. Sad, right?" Eirlys shook her head. "I hope I get to meet the others soon, it'd be nice to see what everyone is like." A wistful smile crossed her face as she spoke.
As long as she didn't secretly kill someone? Those words brought a giggle to Eirlys' lips, shaking her head in amusement. "I haven't done anything awful, nor have I killed anyone, but I can't really talk about what I've done with our guards around. When we get back to Mariner Castle later, we can go up to my room and chat there, guards aren't allowed in my room."
"I feel you on the wanting to do stuff and see stuff, I'd love to see the other planets, and Earth. I would love to go to Earth one day." Eirlys sighed quietly. "I heard it's stunning on that planet, but they're far below all of our tech, and apparently they have a prince on that planet. It should be interesting to see what kind of flora and foliage I can bring back to Mercury to synthesize and increase the beauty, you know?"
Her hazel gaze lit up with excitement. "I"d love to just feel an actual breeze, apparently every planet has protection domes like ours, except Earth." Looking up at the sun-shade covered domes, Eirlys sighed again. "It'd be nice to not have to worry about getting too hot..." Trailing off, she shook her head.
"Alright! this way, and I'll make sure to get you one like mine, they come in so handy for so many things, the holographic technology is my favorite. Oh! and maybe when we get back to the castle later, I can make you one of my metal creatures, it's a lot of fun for me and I can even sneak a communication device in it so we can talk even when you're back on Venus." The girl beamed brightly at Anemone.

"Actually, I meet the moon princess before as well, and her mother. It was a while ago when I was little. I'm afraid my mother and the lunar queen didn't like each other that much. Things have changed though" Anemone gave a small nervous chuckle "They are sisters... and the sad thing is I rarely get a chance to visit my cousin" Her smile saddened a bit, shaking her head. "Adults can be just as silly as kids... right?"
"I understand, maybe you can tell me those stories when you visit Venus? We can spend time inside... at the very least, you won't need guards" A soft sigh left her lips "The worst thing I have done, so far, took my father's personal craft on a joy ride to one of Mars' moons... But that's pretty much semi-public knowledge"
"Earth? Ahhh, think I have read about it in one of my history books. I wonder how they live without technology" she commented, giving a small chuckle, "Oh? I wonder what this prince looks like. To be honest I wouldn't mind seeing him and the planet! They must have so many lovely flowers there... and oh, do you think they have roses?"
"Actually... Venus doesn't have domes either" smirks a bit "It's actually a bit like Earth's twin -- or so I have read. There are so many tales about how the planet was made livable too. When I was little I believed the story of the Goddes and the Volcano. But now that I am older, I think they probably used domes until they were able to terraform the planet slowly"
"Thank you! I would love that. Could you please make a metal figure that looks like a hummingbird?" she asked, slowly walking down the path the other princess. Anemone started to glance around a bit, watching as her guards began to follow behind them, but tried to give the two princesses' space "So, it shouldn't take that long for us to reach the stores... correct?"

"Lucky you." Eirlys smiled at her. "I would love to meet the Moon Princess one day, I heard she's adorable...and your aunt is the Lunar Queen? That's..." She trailed off, shaking her head. "That's kind of scary." she finished, then shrugged a little. "I suppose adults can be just as silly, or sometimes worse than kids, it depends on the adult, I guess."
Pausing a moment to check the map, Eirlys hummed quietly and headed down a street, the tall glass buildings glinting softly, wooden structures lining the ground they were walking on. It wasn't a particularly busy day in Mercury, but there were people bustling about, prices being called out and whatnot, and the young princess of Mercury seemed to relax among all the common people, whereas she had been kind of tense back at the palace. "You took your father's personal craft on a joy ride?" She chuckled. "You rebellious princess you." She teased, hazel eyes sparkling. "Did you have fun at least?"
Being greeted by a few people, Eirlys smiled and said hello back, entirely relaxed and calm, enjoying being around the people the family ruled over. "I don't know, but, I guess it's just how they've developed? Not all of us can be blessed by technology, so, I'm sure they live just fine. I bet they do have roses, really pretty ones....maybe the reddest red you can think of...I would love to see it..." She smiled a little.
At the mention of Venus not having any domes, Eirlys' eyes widened in a nearly comical manner. "You guys don't have domes? Lucky! We can't be domeless" She looked skyward towards the sunshades protecting them. "Too close to the sun and all, it kind of sucks, but I suppose you get used to it after a while. It's a small price to pay for not being burnt to death, you know? You'd like a hummingbird? Sure, no problem! I'd love to make a little flying creature. Normally I make little mice and stuff, so making a hummingbird would be fun." She bounced on her toes a little. "We're actually almost to the store we need to go to, just a few more minutes. I'm sorry for going so slow but I'm enjoying our chat far too much."

"I have visited the Lunar Palace for tea yesterday. Sadly, my mother didn't attend" Anemone replied with a shrug of her shoulders. Even though her mother was on far better terms with her aunt, it might take some time before she planned a formal visit. No matter, Anemone would make a note to keep asking her mother. Perhaps they could attend a lunar event together?
"She seems a bit intimidating, at least from the stories my mother tells me" admitted the Venusian princess. "Very true! Adults can be very silly... I just hope I don't end up like my mother and her aunt. My father can be such a kill joy as well" A hushed chuckle left her lips "I can't wait until I am older. I will be able to table longer trips, maybe even visit some of the outer planets on my own! I have always wanted to see the rings of Saturn... oooh and to see what the winters are like on Pluto"
"Mmmhmm, I wanted to see what spring was like on Jupiter and Mars... sadly I only made it to one of Mars' moons. Oh well. Maybe one day I will be able to take a formal trip to both planets. As you said, there are other princesses' about our ages, I would like to meet them as well"
"I would love to visit Earth, just so I could see the flowers. Hehe, and maybe to check out a few cuties" replied Anemone. "If the landscape of Earth is truly Venus' twin, I know I will adore it" She twirled a curly strand of her tresses before tucking it back behind her ear.
"Everything seems so nice and controlled here. Even your seasons are regulated... it's not like on Venus. It's very warm on our planet and gets very hot during the summer months. " Anemone replied with a chuckle.
"That would be lovely! Hehe I can have a little flying buddy to annoy Artemis with" she mused, "How lovely! Hehe, although I am truly enjoying our little stroll into the city"

"I would be terrified to meet the Lunar Queen." Eirlys admitted "From what I've heard about her? I wouldn't want to cross paths anytime soon with her but I think my parents have invited her and the Princess for some sort of visit soon, I don't really know. I haven't paid much attention, I've been too focused on other things."
She blushed slightly. "Ooohh the outer planets? That would be an amazing and eventful trip I bet. Just seeing them on our star charts makes me all giddy, I would love to see the furthest outreaches of our galaxy. One of these days I'm going to be a great traveler and just see everything I can, that is if my father and mother ever let me go off planet for anything other than formal events." Shaking her head, Eirlys pushed a strand of her soft white hair behind her ear.
"Seeing Mars would be amazing, all that red dirt on the planet, I would love to take samples from each world and study them...I mean, I'm more adept with mechanics, but just being able to check out the different soil compositions would be invigorating." She sighed dreamily, then chuckled a little bit.
"Everything is controlled by either mother or father, we're extremely close to the sun so we have about 3000+ Sun Shades to protect us, along with the domes, but once in a while, they'll lower the temperature enough for winter weather, it's quite fun. I would love to sneak into the Control Tower one day and see what I can do."
A little sparkle of mischief appeared in her eyes and she looked up as they arrived at the shop. "Ah, here we are..." Entering the shop, it was a cozy little place with various technology strewn about in an organized fashion and Eirlys headed right for the latest Tablet model. After purchasing it, she handed it to Anemone. "Here you go, while we're at the restaurant, I'll show you how to program it." She said happily.
