 Nature's Splendor(Open)(Mon 4/1)
« Thread Started on Sept 3, 2009, 11:35am »

It was another glorious morning along the outskirts of Crystal Tokyo. There was something about the pure air and the clear blue sky that lit a fire in Hibiki's heart. He often spent the mornings among the hills and mountains either walking around or lying on the grass, staring at the sky.

He was in his regular casual attire, his white shirt and his black slacks and blue cons. He kept his sunglasses above his head so he could properly view the scenery. His guitar was strapped to his back as he would be ready when the mood struck him to start playing.

He loved being back in Crystal Tokyo, despite the many offers he's had to take another world tour. There was something about this place that just caused him to want to stay. He didn't want to explain it at all.

As he continued his walk, the mood suddenly struck him and he felt the strong urge to sing arrive once more. He quickly found a large rock to sit on and spun his guitar around, holding it in his hands. He immediately knew what he was wanting to sing, like it was always there and was just waiting for him to open the door. The sound of his guitar carried in the gentle breeze.

"Never seen a bluer sky.
Yeah I can feel it reaching out
And moving closer.
There's something 'bout blue.

Asked myself what it's all for.
You know the funny thing about it,
I couldn't answer.
No, I couldn't answer.

Things have turned a deeper shade of blue.
And images that might be real
May be illusion.
Keep flashing off and on..."

There was no stopping him now. At least, not until the song was finished. Hibiki was strange like that. There would be times that he would be struck with incredible inspiration and couldn't do anything else until he had satisified that feeling. It certainly made his childhood more difficult with the kids calling him "Songbird" all the time and making fun of him. Despite all that, he wore "Songbird" as a badge of honour and later used it as part of his title, "The Eastern Songbird".

"Free...
Wanna be free...
Gonna be free...
And move among the stars.
You know they really aren't so far.

Feeling so free...
Gotta know free...
Please...
Don't wake me from the dream.
It's really everything it seemed.

I'm so free...

No black and white in the blue...

Everything is clearer now.
Life is just a dream, you know,
That's never ending.
I'm ascending ..."

Sighing and smiling, Hibiki looked up to the blue sky and said, "It's amazing how much this place inspires me." He continued to strum the tune of the song he just sang until he heard something. A crack, maybe? Perhaps someone stepped on a twig, he wasn't sure. "Is someone there?" He asked, looking around.

Alima slowly made her way up a small dirt path. Every now and then her focus would shift to the sea of soft blue above. There was something very peaceful about the entire area. Being able to wake to the sound of birds singing was a welcome change to the various noises of the city. Even though she would be returning to Crystal Tokyo the following day and to class that afternoon, she tried not to let it ruin her current mood. Her attire for this short stroll was fairly relaxed, a pair of blue jeans and a loose long sleeved olive colored t-shirt with her college’s emblem along the front. Shoes consisted of a pair of dark gray hued hiking shoes. Her few pieces of jewelry were a pair of emerald stud earrings and a single silver nose ring. Persian Indigo hued tresses were brushed up into a single pony tail. Over her right shoulder was a large backpack.

Another soft breeze caused her bangs to sway gently. Her thoughts drifted just as freely as the soft wind. So far the only plans Alima had made for that after noon were to wonder the area. She had packed a small lunch and brought along a few books to read. Maybe, if the mood struck her she might be inspired enough to write a bit? Gradually the sound of someone lightly strumming an acoustic guitar caught her attention, followed by a rather calming voice. She found herself subconsciously moving toward the sound, taking note of the interesting lyrics. The song it’s self seemed inspired by the clear sky above, yet did not distract from the current surroundings. It almost brought to mind free flight through that endless sea of blue. A small smile formed along her features. Citrine orbs soon focused on someone sitting on a large rock up ahead.

She paused the moment she heard the low sound of a twig crunching beneath her left shoe. “Oh, I am sorry I did not mean to disrupt you. Lovely song by the way”

Hibiki was right. There was someone there. Though he didn't expect it to be such a beautiful woman. He quickly gazed at her clothing and saw her to be a college student. But there was something more about here. She seemed so familiar. Perhaps they knew one another in a past life. Hibiki was a sucker for that sort of thing, so he quickly believed that to be the case.

As she spoke up and complimented his song, Hibiki stood from his rock and gently sat his guitar down beside it, saying, "Thank you very much. To have someone as lovely as you to compliment my music is the highest honor." He picked up her hand and kissed it, saying afterward, "My name is Kugenin Hibiki, but you may simply call me Hibiki or Hibi-kun if you so wish. What brings a beautiful woman such as yourself out here on such a morning?"

As he stared into her eyes, he was fully convinced that they knew one another in a past life. He wasn't sure how, but he knew it. He had to resist the urge to paint such a lovely beauty as well, seeing how he didn't know her name.... though he did have his painting supplies with him... just in case.

Focus remained on the charming young man. In truth she was not expecting to run into anyone so far off the normal trail. No matter, it was a pleasant treat to be able to hear such a pleasant song. This random meeting made the trip all the more interesting. “You’re welcome” she replied in a polite tone, her lips formed a weak smile when she heard the added compliment. “Thank you… And your song is truly worthy of such praise. Those were very inspiring lyrics. Dare I say, they painted the image of someone ascending into the soft blue heavens above?”

Something about this person seemed vaguely familiar, yet she was not sure why. Maybe she had seen him on campus or seen in somewhere in Crystal Tokyo. Focus shifted toward the tone and style of his singing voice. The song he sang was akin to the music she listened to while studying. Instead of picking one genre her attention often shifted to anything with decent enough lyrics. Yes, she was certain she had heard his voice before, yet sadly she couldn’t associate a name.

Citrine hued orbs softened ever so slightly when she felt his lips upon her hand. “You’re quite the gentleman, that’s a fairly rare quality. Pleasure to meet you, Hibi-kun… my name is Abdurrashid, Alima. I came here to enjoy the stunning scenery and to escape from the city for a weekend. I wanted to visit a place where I could actually view the stars instead of bright obnoxious lights. So tell me, what brings you out to such a remote location?” she replied, giving a small chuckle toward the end.

“Your name sounds familiar… I know I have heard your voice before. Have you ever performed at Empyrean University?” For the moment she was semi certain that she had seen Hibibki perform. There seemed a decent enough chance that she had heard his music before; hopefully his answer would confirm her current suspicions.

"I understand your line of thinking. I, too, miss the stars. To be in a place where you could almost reach out and touch a star... that is why I am here," Hibiki replied. He walked around the small opening the two of them occupied and then spoke again.

"I haven't yet performed at the University, but I will next week, actually. I'm scheduled for next Tuesday. I would love it if you would join me. Tell me, can you sing or play an instrument?" Hibiki was curious at just what this Alima could do. Perhaps he would be able to figure out why he felt he knew her. Maybe their souls were simply kindred spirits calling to one another.

He turned to face her again after picking up his guitar and placing the strap over his shoulder. He was ready to play again, but that was never anything difficult for Hibiki. The difficult thing was for Hibiki to stop playing at any point. The concert at the University would be his first after returning to Crystal Tokyo. He had planned to play at various locations before his main concert near the end of the month. He had high hopes for the concert and wished for many to attend. Hopefully Alima would be a driving force for attendance to his first concert.

Eyes of a soft citrine hue stayed focused on the male before her. Truth be told, there was something about him the seemed familiar yet at the same time unfamiliar. If she had not seen him in concert before she wondered why his name sounded so familiar. Alima could not shale that odd feeling of déjà vu either. Oh well there was no real reason to dwell on it. “I understand why you chose to come here, over one of the quieter locations in the city. Nothing within the Crystal limits. Ah true, it almost feels as if one could reach out and touch the stars”

“Oh? I am glad to hear that, I look forwards to seeing you perform. I do not have anything planned for that date. I used to sing in a small school ensemble, but quit after High School. I do play an instrument, flute. I do not really have the time to play it with a group, but periodically I will play with a few old high school friends. I would not mind joining you on stage… it will be interesting” Another weak smile formed along Alima’s features as she listened to Hibiki play. There was something very relaxing about the current tune and how it seemed to compliment their current surroundings.

Hibiki chuckled and said, "I would love for you to join me. It would be quite the concert. Perhaps you could suggest a song you enjoy and I would learn it quickly so that we could have a duet?"

The calm guitarist stopped strumming and began to stare at the sky, waiting for his new friend's response. He started thinking of the songs he would be singing at this concert, and suddenly remembered that he still had to finish his composition for this coming Friday. Despite the fact that it seemed rude, he pulled out a piece of paper he had been writing lyrics upon. He then grabbed a pen from his pocket and stuck it between his teeth before a thought hit him.

"Forgive me for this, but when I am struck with inspiration, I must put it on paper, lest it become lost in the ether," He said, hoping that he didn't just put off his new friend. He really needed to work on his random bursts of inspiration, but there really wasn't much he could do. He quickly finished writing his thought and looked at Alima once more. "I'm sorry again about that. Now, where were we?" Hibiki finished with a chuckle.

A pleasant smile formed on her face, lips parted to allow a small chuckle to escape “I would truly enjoy that. Ah, that is a good idea. I do fairly well at sight reading. So, I doubt it will take me long to learn two new pieces” Alima briefly ran over her normal schedule. For the time being she did not have much planned. She was very certain she could balance her normal day to day actives well enough to free up extra time for practice.

Citrine hued gaze stayed focused on the young man for a moment. Seconds later she too began to glance back into the clear blue depths above them. There was something calming about the entire area, something breathtaking about that light yet stunning shade. It seemed a pity that she had to return to the city. All the same, it gave her more reason to return her later in the year.

A soft wind caused a few of her indigo hued tresses to sway gently. She lifted her hand, tucking a few back. “Ah, please do not worry, I understand. I can see how the calming skies above could inspire one to write poetry” adding another chuckle toward the end. “I would not want you to lose a good verse that could possibly be used in a song”
