Laptop crashed. Need to reinstall windows but I need to save my data first may not be around or posting. May be on full time again in a couple of weeks. Be good. Will try to finish pinkladies review. Jo is in charge, be good.

Computers are ebil things, yet we can't live without them  . Or, we could, but we would go insane and destroy the world like Regno, and we wouldn't want that! Hope yours feels better soon.
And now Regno is protesting my calling her insane . Okay, megalomaniacal and vengeful, but (pretty much) sane. Happy now?

I had a computer crash today. The operating system is shot.
The laptop fell off my lap and to the floor.. and why that ruined the OS I don't know. As of now, I essentially have no OS on my laptop.
According to the tech support, the hardware is fine but the operating system died which means I need to reinstall windows and reformat the computer. However, this would mean losing all my data which I have not backed up for 4 months (Long story). There is a promise of being able to get my data off the hard drive before I reformat it and right now I am in the process of trying to find a local geek's opinion before I charter a taxi for the twenty mile trip to the nearest geek squad and shell out $100-150 dollars.
What I need is just a computer with a working operating system, and someone who knows what they're doing essentially. The harddrive has to be taken out of my laptop and installed into the other computer which will then access it like a external harddrive and we'd be able to copy all my files over. Then just reinstall the drive, reformat the computer, install windows and drivers.. and I'm back to good. However finding said computer and said techy guy when you don't have a car and you're in a STRANGE STATE and there is no TECH SUPPORT provided through your employer or your apartment complex (like we had at School)... it's a little hard.
I do have my ipod touch for reading and catching up on things and I damn might try to make a post on it if I have to. I also have access to a computer lab (Crappy and limited as it is) and to my friend's laptop so I should still be able to pop on, however limited.
*Sigh* Maybe I'll go back tonight and it'll work.

UPDATE
I have the adapter. Tomorrow I'm going to pull out the hard drive and try and to get my data off. Best case scenario: I'll get my data off and the reformatting of the harddrive will take me maybe a couple more days and I'll be back in full force. Worst case scenario? I have to order a new harddrive, I have to get a new copy of Windows or have Mom search for my Windows XP disks and I lose 4 months of art and images and unbacked up files.
You'll know soon.
I miss you all and the RP and I feel really terrible about not being around.

I epically failed before noon today. The Adapter and my harddrive? Compatible, both SATA but one with small prongs, the other with large prongs. Needless to say I was not able to EVEN try. I'll keep you updated, as always.
I'm.. not really sure what to say. Please just keep the stories moving. Replace me as Usagi in Curse of the Moon if necessary as there is no way I can keep up with RPing without having my own laptop. The Labs here are for business/school work ONLY and I run the risk of being reprimanded for using them for posts. I can only use Travis's laptop so much as well..
I'm really sorry guys, I am. I feel terrible. I was crying for hours this morning on the phone with my mom because I'm just so stressed out about this whole laptop thing. I don't have a car. I can't get off Disney Property easily so I can't get it to someone very easily, but I'm trying.. I'm just trying to save my data. Data that has a lot of Court Intrigue stuff, drawings for you guys, stuff I've been working on for months and sometimes years that I never got backed up. Mom's just telling me to go buy a new laptop and we'll fix mine later.. but a lot of these things can't wait.
So I'm not leaving you.. I'm just.. unable to get my laptop working right now.

Things have been quiet, but I'm gonna get back to advertising at least somewhat regularly in hopes of getting more people in here. Things will keep moving, even if I have to kidnap some people and strap them in, damn it !

Hey guys. Good news! Well I had to get a new harddrive which sucks but it arrived today and now all I'm waiting on is my recovery disk. PROVIDED I am not cursed I will be back by this weekend! Dear god I hope so...
