Boring Classes Are Boring (4/1) (Closed) « Thread Started on Sept 4, 2009, 2:50pm »
Disturbing as the idea may have been, Jo had gotten used to being up and (relatively) alert in the mornings. She even had a bit of a routine, in which she was up by around 6:30 (when she didn't get lazy and push the snooze a couple of times), got Keiki up and dressed, got herself dressed, made breakfast (except on days she pressed snooze one too many times, and then they'd have to stop somewhere on the way and pick up something), packed some lunch, got Keiki to school, and finally went to her own classes.
At the moment she was in her Japanese class, which was. . . strange, to say the least. There were some different words between Japanese and the Argenian Common Jo had grown up speaking, and the variable sentence structure of Japanese could still get a bit confusing, but for the most part there was no problem communicating with the Crystal Tokyo natives, at least when speaking. Writing was an entirely different matter. Where Argenian Common had an alphabet of runic symbols with which to write, Japanese was made up of elaborate characters which stood for syllables, whole words, or ideas. It would be years before she would be able to properly write things she could say without even really thinking about it! If not for the fact she knew she would be living on this planet the rest of her life and needed to know these things, she wouldn't be taking this class at all.
Yet there she sat, dressed fairly conservatively (as had become her usual style) in a mandarin-collared black jacket in a(n ironically) military-inspired style with double rows of silvertoned buttons, worn with a slim black skirt which fell just short of her knees and a pair of black heels. Her violet hair was in its usual tousled state, and she wore very little make-up; just a bit of black eyeliner and mascara, and a hint of shiny strawberry-scented lipgloss. She was doing her best to pay attention as the teacher demonstrated the proper stroke order for writing the kanji for "fish", but this was just one of those mornings her mind was prone to wander.

(OOC: My first timeline enforcement in months! ^.^ The nostalgia is overwhelming, aiya. Anyway, this thread needs to show activity within a week or it will be closed for timeline purposes.)
Makoto: You've got to stop reading so many romance novels! Minako: Look who's talking! You think the paperboy likes you just because he rides by your front door every morning!
